**Material Handler**

**JD Sweid Foods **is one of the largest poultry and red meat further processors in Canada. We service both the retail and food service channels and offer high quality products that deliver on taste. **General**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure proper movement of raw material and product as needed for planned production in a safe and efficient manner
- Follow all safety, HACCP and process plans and guidelines
- Maximize efficiencies where possible, minimize down time and report problems promptly
- Perform a variety of sorting and packing tasks as a part of the production crew and provide leadership to others as required
- General cleanup and product movement with pallet truck
- Perform line checks as needed
- Perform all tasks to ensure compliance with specifications of the customer product
- Adhere to food safety and HACCP principles
- Keep work area clean, free of slip and trip hazards at all times
- Other duties as directed by Production Lead Hands and Supervisors

**Qualifications**:

- Able to handle heavy lifting of up to 25kg boxes
- Experience with food safety and HACCP principles
- Must be dependable and hold an above average attendance record
- Good communication skills and able to work well in a team environment
- Ability to work well under pressure and with little supervision
- Responsible to maintain a hand truck and forklift license

**Salary**: $18.45-$19.45 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Morning shift
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Langley, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Material Handler: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Forklift Licence (preferred)
