Loader Operator

**Who we are**:
The City of Lethbridge Composting Facility is new Facility Construction located at the Lethbridge Waste & Recycling Centre. The Composting Facility will be designed to process Green Cart Organics from 34,500 single-family homes, 7,500 multi-family residences, and industrial organics beginning in the Spring of 2023. AIM is looking to build a new team to support this critical program beginning with current commissioning and partial operations during the winter to full operations in the Spring of 2023.

**Loader Operator Profile**:

- Inspecting equipment prior to commencement and conclusion of each shift completing all daily maintenance and operating log reports.
- Actively participate in labor duties.
- Loading and unloading all organics waste products and materials into shredders, mixers, screening systems, and compost processing vessels.
- Maintaining a clean working environment promoting individual and team commitment to OH&S best practices.
- Identifying and reporting any equipment deficiencies to the Compost Process Supervisor.
- Actively participating in daily toolbox meetings and scheduled staff, OH&S and Environmental training programs, and other related meetings.
- Safely perform other duties as assigned.

**Operating Equipment**:
The Loader Operator will be required to operate a variety of large equipment in an efficient and safe operating manner including but not limited to the following:

- John Deere 244L/624P Loaders.
- Komptech Nemus 2700 Trommel Screen.
- Komptech Crambo - Shredder.
- Ecoverse Tiger HS 55 Depackager.
- Lucknow 425 Horizontal Mixer.
- Air handling systems.

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience operating a Front-End Loader/heavy equipment.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
- Landfill, Recycling, and Organic composting experience is considered an asset.
- Basic computer and troubleshooting skills.

**Working Conditions**:

- Hours will be 44 regular hours per week with the exact shifts to be determined.
- Rotating schedule that includes weekends.
- Inclement weather working inside and outside.
