**Job Description - Assembly Technician P/T**

Based out of our shop in St. Albert, AB, the **Assembly Technician** position will report to the General Manager, and will be primarily responsible for the final assembly, quality assurance, and packaging of our finished products. Current opening is for part-time day shift of 10-20 hours per week.
**Responsibilities**
- Build and assemble mechanical fitness equipment products.
- Review completed products for quality assurance, and mechanical and aesthetic conformance.
- Assemble/manufacture product components as per drawings.
- Promote a safe working culture.
- Work efficiently with mínimal supervision.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Fulfilling and packaging shipments per company guidelines.
- Track inventory of product components.
- Limited computer tasks as required.
- Other shop duties as required.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum education level of a High School Diploma is considered an asset.
- Minimum 0-3 years’ of experience in a manufacturing/mechanical environment.
- Prior ability or interest in building or repairing mechanical components considered an asset.
- Competent using basic hand tools and power tools (drill, impact drill, router, chop saw, etc).
- Ability to read a tape measure (including conversions from fraction to decimal and conversely from decimal to fraction and metric to imperial).
- Knowledge of imperial bolt/screw nomenclature considered an asset.
- Experience reading and interpreting mechanical engineering drawings/blueprints considered an asset.
- Experience with a hydraulic press and drill press considered an asset.
- Forklift experience considered an asset.
- Basic computer knowledge considered and asset.
- First aid training considered an asset.
- Personal interest in health and fitness considered an asset.
- Knowledge of fitness industry/equipment considered an asset.
**Working Conditions**
- Sitting or standing position in a temperature controlled manufacturing environment with occasional outside activities.
- Required to wear personnel protective equipment at all times (i.e, safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection and respirators when required).
- Must be able to occasionally work from all type of ladders (step ladders, A frame ladders and all size extension ladders).
**Physical Requirements**
- A physically dynamic job requiring a combination of sitting, standing, regular lifting/moving of up to 50lbs within a shop environment
- Ability to safely use and operate hand tools such as knife, screwdriver, ratchet, hammer, and power tools (some vibrating), for long periods of time with frequent repetition.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week
**Salary**: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
