**Role**: Screener - Full time (3:30PM to 11:30PM)

Reporting to the Director of Care the Screener serves as the first and last line of contact for any individual(s) entering and exiting the facility. The Screener will be responsible for providing safety, security and best hygiene practices aligned with Southbridge’s protocols.

**As a Screener, you will be accountable for**
- Utilizing the screening tools to assess eligibility for entrance, including screening for symptoms, signs and travel
- Application of the legislated screening guidelines which consists of asking questions on screening form, +/- temperature reading, etc.
- If required, refer individuals to advance screening
- Log all arriving and departing staff, visitors and contractors
- Ensuring all individuals entering the facility adhere to proper precautionary measures and wear the required appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Utilizing the screening tools for individuals exiting, by logging symptoms, signs and protocol adherence during their presence in the facility
- Conducting high touch cleaning of commonly used areas around the workstation, including but not limited to facility main door handles, keypad, biometric clock and incoming mail/packages (as required)
- Adhere to the package isolation process
- Ensure the screening area is kept tidy
- Managing the facility’s telephone line, triaging calls to the appropriate parties
- Assist in other areas of the home as necessary

**Following are the requirements**:

- High school diploma
- Excellent customer service practices
- Knowledge of operations of a long term care and/or retirement home an asset but not required
- Understanding and/or willingness to learn COVID-19 protocols in relation to Long Term Care and Retirement in Ontario
- Volunteer or formal training in a health care setting an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to educate and teach others in an effective way
- Strong judgement and decision-making skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and organize
