and builds custom mobile equipment and vehicles. We started in the Mining sector in 2003 and have since expanded into construction, waste, transportation, and energy. A Buyer & Procurement Specialist facilitates purchases from outside suppliers to keep the

business running. Their primary responsibilities include understanding the Bill of Materials,

researching key suppliers, negotiating purchase agreements, and ensuring all products and

materials meet company standards. The buyer must ensure that materials, services and

supplies are purchased at the best possible price while meeting the required specifications and delivery timelines.

**Primary Responsibilities and Objectives**:
Buyer & Procurement Specialist will perform day-to-day purchasing and procurement activities, assist with long term strategic procurement initiatives and cost reduction/avoidances.

**Qualifications**:

- 3-5 years’ North America experience in purchasing preferably in fabrication /

manufacturing and 5 or more years of proven procurement experience.
- Degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or

Engineering is preferred.
- Supply Chain accreditation or the ability to work towards one is an asset.
- Have the ability to work in an independent environment.
- Experience in accounting software like Quick Books.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office line of products including Outlook, Word, etc., with

advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in Solidworks or Autocad would be considered an asset.
- ERP Ordering and Inventory Management Experience.
- Generation and maintenance of inventory management systems.
- Familiarity with global shipping and procurement practices.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Initiative-taking attitude towards work, teamwork, and cooperation.
- Strong, effective communication with critical thinking skills and superior problem-solving

abilities are key for this role.
- Strategic and analytical mindset towards procurement.

- Work with Project Team Leaders to detail and meet planned build schedules, budgets,

and material allowances.
- Research - Investigate relevant technologies, componentry and suppliers to meet project

requirements.
- Ability to review assembly drawings, and work with engineering to generate required and

accurate BOMs.
- Engineering Changes - Complete required updates to maintain and improve on existing

procurement documentation along with engineering.
- Follow all company procurement policies and practices as laid out by Medatech.

**Physical Demands of the Job**:
This position is a full-time onsite job that requires the employee to attend the Medatech office and shop location. Light lifting of outgoing and incoming inventory and order sorting will be required.

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
