Day, Evening, and Night shifts available
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follows all policies, directives, procedures, rules, regulations and Acts pertaining to the operation.
Follows and adheres to the Manager, Assisted Living/Supportive Housing’s expectations regarding Resident independence, choice, dignity, privacy, individuality and ensures a home-like environment for Residents.
Provides and receives reports at change of shift. Asks Manager, Assisted Living/Supportive Housing for clarification of assignments if required. Read the staff communication records. Refers to Resident records as required.
Maintains a clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for Residents, staff and visitors.
Assists Residents with laundry service, housekeeping and personal care services as assigned.
Participates in setting up the dining room.
Assists in kitchen as required including wash dishes, sweep, wash floors, put stock away and other duties as required.
Performs housekeeping duties which include floor care and other janitorial duties.
Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control and WHMIS protocols.
Advises Manager, Assisted Living/Supportive Housing when additional supplies are required.
Notifies Manager, Assisted Living/Supportive Housing and fellow staff members about changes in Resident’s condition, and planned Resident absences.
Participates in the orientation program and staff development programs as directed.
Promotes and maintains good public relations within the facility and with outside organizations.
Maintain confidentiality of work-related information at all times.
Ensures that equipment, procedures and activities are conducive to a safe environment for Clients, staff, volunteers and visitors.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Manager, Assisted Living/Supportive Housing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized institution.
Inservice on Heimlich Maneuver, WHMIS is required.
Experience in housekeeping, meal service is required.
Prior caregiver experience would be an asset.
Performance acceptable to the Employer in your current position.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
A friendly disposition and good interpersonal and communication skills are preferred.
Individual must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Must be willing to work closely with physically/mentally challenged individuals and within the value system of our company.
