Trans Mountain operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 300,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta and British Columbia, and 111 kilometres of pipeline in Washington state.

As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician with Trans Mountain, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a progressive and fast-paced group of experts.
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring maximum up-time availability of the pipeline pumping equipment and components and the day-to-day safe remote Operations of the pipeline. Accountable to self, coworkers, public, shareholders and the environment and perform at the best of his/her ability in all duties, regardless of the task at hand.
This position is based in the Sumas Terminal reporting to the Operations Supervisor.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Operations Station and Facilities scheduled checks.
- Maintain facility motors, pumps, valves, mechanical seals, samplers, mixers, thermal relief valves, full flow relief valves, densitometers, flow meters, and all related mechanical equipment.
- Totara, Emergency Response, GLOBAL and all other relevant mechanical training.
- Contractor oversight and monitoring.
- Multi-skill and multi-task within Operations including assisting in providing Operational support and Emergency response to ensure throughput and system reliability.
- Perform Pigging Operations at multiple locations.
- Partake in Emergency response exercises and scenarios.
- Assisting other technical groups as needed, including, but not limited to, maintenance and operations.
**Requirements**:
- High school diploma completion.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the millwright trade with related mechanic work experience.
- Journeymen Millwright Diploma is required.
- Red Seal Interprovincial endorsement is required.
- Experience in the oil & gas / pipeline sector would be considered an asset.
- Experience with a computer-based maintenance programs would be an asset.
- Maintain a high regard for personal safety, safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.****:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
- Self-motivated, capable of performing tasks with mínimal supervision.
- Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail is critical.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle strict deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- This position is part of an on-call rotation.
