- $46.67 - $57.30 per hour**Description**:
The **Chief Building Official (CBO)** ensures the efficient and effective reviewing of building plans, planning review, site plan review, issuing building permits and sewage system permits and inspecting to ensure compliance in accordance with provincial/federal legislation, council policies and within approved budget.
- Post-Secondary Diploma or Certificate in related field or licensed construction tradesperson
- Registered Building Official with MMAH
- Membership with the OBOA in good standing
- Certified Building Code Official (CBCO) as described in the Ontario Building Code Act
- 5 years’ experience serving a municipality as a Chief Building Official
- Demonstrated supervisory and performance management skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Official Plan and local by-laws
- In depth knowledge of the Ontario Fire Code, Ontario Building Code and other related statues
- General knowledge of Health and Safety Act, Environmental Protection Act, and knowledge of the construction industry and estimating
- The ability to function well under pressure and to respond to frequently changing demands and priorities
- Strong interpersonal communication and public relations skills
- Ability to read and understand budget sheets and financial statements
