**Duties**:
Are you ready to take on a dynamic and hands-on role that supports Canada’s naval operations? Our Technical Inspectors are at the forefront of ensuring excellence and reliability in the maintenance and repair of Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) ships and equipment.
As a Technical Inspector, you’ll serve as the Government of Canada’s trusted technical representative, working directly with contractors at commercial, private, and Crown-owned shipyards. You’ll oversee and manage production activities related to repairs, upgrades, and in-service support for RCN vessels and systems.This role offers exciting challenges in a variety of technical domains, including mechanical, electrical, naval architecture, and combat systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting quality assurance inspections to ensure the highest standards.
- Monitoring repair progress and overseeing system activations and operations.
- Evaluating maintenance and repair schemes for compliance with contracts and regulations.
- Ensuring safety, integrity, and conformity of delivered materials.
- Providing expert oversight on design changes and technical modifications.

**Intent of the process**:
The intent of this process is to fill 1 (one) TI-06 bilingual imperative (BBB/BBB) position on an indeterminate basis in Lévis, Quebec.
This position requires a full-time on-site presence.
This process may also be used to fill future positions in the following locations:

- Esquimalt, BC

EDUCATION:
EDU1. A postsecondary diploma from a program of at least two (2) years from a recognized technological institute with a specialization in a technical or scientific field (electrical engineering, electronics, aerospace or marine engineering or naval architecture or mechanical or industrial engineering technology; or other technological / manufacturing field deemed pertinent).
OR
An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience in a technological / manufacturing field deemed relevant.
Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
EX1. Significant* experience inspecting, monitoring and evaluating ship construction, refit, repair or life extension work to ensure compliance to contractual terms.
EX2. Significant* experience reviewing, assessing and implementing inspection plans, ship system reactivations for the construction, refit, repair or life extension of ships respective to mechanical, electrical, communication, metallurgy, ship structure or combat systems.
EX3. Significant* experience in marine construction, repairs, operation, inspection or quality assurance respective to mechanical, electrical, communication, metallurgy, ship structure, combat systems, industrial technology field or another technical field
