**Job Purpose**
The Truck Driver is responsible for transport and delivery of shipments.
**Responsibilities**
- Displays a commitment to Waiward’s incident-free vision, values, and culture.
- Maintain radio or telephone contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions.
- Maneuver truck into loading or unloading position.
- Position blocking and tie down cargo for transport.
- Assist in loading and unloading truck, when needed.
- Obtain customer signature for goods delivered.
- Keep records of materials and products transported.
- Maintain truck log according to regulations.
- Clean, inspect, and get vehicle serviced as needed.
- Attend toolbox meetings as required.
- Ensures that he wears the appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
- Report personal injuries, no matter how minor, and obtain medical attention as required.
- May perform other related duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
- Class 1 Driver’s License with Air brake endorsement (Z) required.
- Clean and current Commercial Vehicle Abstract.
- Minimum 10 years driving with winch experience.
- Structural steel experience requiredValid certification or experience with Winch Operation.
- Clean and current drivers abstract required.
- Knowledge of safe loading/unloading of trailers and of how to secure loads.
- Dangerous Goods Training.
- Load Securement Training.
- OSSA BSO.
- FLHA Training.
- WHMIS.
- Knowledge of maintaining logs for company owned trailers.
- Able to work in and out of town including overnight at times within Alberta.
- Comfortable with having to be clean shaven to enter some sites.
- Knowledge of Nonsmoking in vehicles rules.
**Working Conditions**
The incumbent is required to work in all weather conditions and will be situated in a vehicle for the majority of the time.
**Physical Requirements**
The incumbent is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: paying attention to the road for extended periods of time; and extensive reading. The incumbent is also required to stand and sit for extended periods of time and will require good physical attributes for walking on uneven ground, climbing, confined space entry, and limited lifting.
