**Job Summary**

Responsible for loading, transporting and unloading building supply materials or provide services from the warehouse to customer job sites following established safety, service and quality policies and procedures.

**Essential Job Duties/Functions**
- Performs daily pre-trip vehicle safety inspection according to company guidelines.
- Maintains truck maintenance, fluid levels and fuel as needed or required.
- Reports any vehicle mechanical problems on a timely basis to ensure prompt attention from fleet maintenance.
- Follows written and oral instructions from store manager to ensure each customer order is loaded accurately.
- Pulls materials from warehouse according to customer order, loads delivery vehicle and properly secures the load to minimize shifting and damage in transit.
- Determines the most direct route to customer job site giving consideration to safety, traffic and state DOT regulations.
- Wears personal protective equipment as required or needed.
- Drives/operates delivery truck to safely deliver and unload materials at customer job site.
- Inspects customer job site to ensure truck can be operated safely and delivery of materials can be made safely and efficiently.
- Communicates professionally and pleasantly with customers.
- Keeps the interior and exterior of the truck clean and free of clutter to include regularly removing road film.
- Completes required paperwork timely and accurately.
- Follows established company policies and guidelines for safety, quality and customer service.
- Maintains neat and professional personal appearance.
- Unloads deliveries of building materials and places in the proper warehouse location.
- Performs other duties as required by dispatcher or other management employees.
- Assists with walk-in and telephone customers as needed.
- Operates forklift to unload, load or move materials.
- Assists with taking inventory as needed.
- Performs general housekeeping duties to include neatly stacking and storing supplies/materials, sweeping warehouse and emptying trash receptacles as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by store manager or other management employees.

**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience (Required = R; Preferred = P)**
- HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum age of 25 years old required.
- Current, valid driver’s license required.
- Satisfactory driving and criminal record required.
- General knowledge of the local area is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with basic math calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division as well as measurements.
- Prefer at least one year of experience in a driving position, especially with a construction or construction-related company.
- Demonstrated knowledge of building materials is preferred.

**Physical Requirements**
- Occasional/frequent periods of sitting while operating the truck.
- Occasional/frequent use of feet to operate clutch/transmission.
- Occasional/frequent lifting of up to 100 lbs.
- Occasional/frequent carrying of up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional/frequent climbing of steps.
- Occasional/frequent reaching, grabbing, pushing and pulling.
- Occasional/frequent stooping, squatting, bending and kneeling.
- Occasional pushing and pulling.
- Occasional/frequent twisting.

**Environmental Conditions **(Personal protective equipment is provided where required or requested)**
- Majority of work is performed outdoors.
- Frequent exposure to elements of weather to include extremes in heat, humidity, cold, dust and moisture for extended periods.
- Occasionally/frequently exposed to rough, muddy and icy surface conditions.
- Frequent exposure to dust and diesel fuel.
- Frequently exposed to water and wet conditions.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 44 per week
