**Reports to**: VP Finance
Toptable Group is one of the most highly respected hospitality groups in Canada, encompassing some of the leading restaurants in Vancouver, Whistler and New York. **Job Summary**
Residing within the corporate accounting division of Toptable Group, this position reports to the VP Finance and is responsible for leading the accounting department to complete the monthly, quarterly and annual internal and external reporting requirements.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
(other duties may be assigned as required)
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for each restaurant and consolidated financial statements.
- Prepare working papers for annual audit and coordinate any audit inquiries
- Supervise accounting team
- Manage finance systems
- Oversee cash management and treasury, in conjunction with VP Finance
- Participate in monthly restaurant review with restaurant teams and VP Finance
- Manage and prepare monthly working papers and GL reconciliations
- Prepare financial reports and analysis as needed
- Gift card administration and reconciliation
- Set up and maintenance of financial systems (Global payments, Eigen, Payroll, Compeat)
- Preparing month end financial reporting package
- Recommend and prepare business analytics and reporting
- Support the finance team and VP Finance
- Various ad hoc and special projects
**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**:
- CPA accounting designation
- Minimum 5 years of full-cycle accounting experience post designation
- Ability to motivate, lead and manage a dedicated head office accounting team
- Excellent knowledge of Excel, with proficient knowledge of word
- Understanding of restaurant Point of Sale (POS) systems an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal)
- Self starter who is motivated to learn and grow
- Attention to detail and meticulous with accuracy
- Experience in the food and beverage industry is an asset
