Davidson Child Care Incorporated is a non-profit organization bringing licensed and government subsidized child care to the town of Davidson and surrounding area. We are a newly constructed child care centre with a goal of opening in Summer 2025. We are currently licensed for 66 child care spaces for children aged 6 weeks - 6 years. Hours of operation are 7:00am-6:00pm Monday to Friday.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Director to lead our team. The Director will oversee all aspects of the center's operations, including staff management, program development, and ensuring a safe, enriching environment for children. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of early childhood education, and excellent organizational and problem solving abilities. The Director will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our organization and making a positive impact on our community.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee daily operations, including budgeting, enrolment, scheduling, and procurement of supplies
- Manage recruitment, retention, training, and evaluation of staff
- Foster a positive work environment, facilitate and encourage strong teamwork, and address staff-related concerns
- Development of resources, activity planning, working with the Play & Exploration curriculum
- Ensure up-to-date knowledge of child care regulations and licensing requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships and quality communication with families
- Represent the centre in community activities, facilitate communication through forms of social media
- Seek out opportunities for professional development and management of education
- Work closely with the Board of Directors, providing updates and reports on centre operations, concerns, and goals

**Qualifications**:

- Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Education (or the equivalent)
- Years of experience working in a childcare setting in a leadership or management role
- Familiarity with current child care regulations and licensing requirements
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to use computer programming such as word, excel, and social media platforms
- CPR-C and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Food Safety certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Criminal Record, including Vulnerable Sector Check
