Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Book Keeper is responsible for Accounts Payable and Receivable as well Payroll and other general duties.
**MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Demonstrate outstanding communications with Staff, Residents, and families.
Accounts Payable:
- Enter approved invoices, process bi-weekly cheque runs and EFT.
- Complete approved monthly rental refunds.
- Reconcile and issue petty cash top-up.
Accounts Receivable:
- Enter resident charges throughout the month for resident billing.
- Update resident information and charges on an as needed basis with software provided.
- Complete month-end billing and EFT submissions.
- Prepare resident statements for distribution.
Payroll
- Update payroll information provided by managers on an as needed basis.
- Review and complete bi-weekly payroll.
- Assist Augustine House in maintaining the schedule provided EMS.
- Enroll and remove employees from benefit plans, based on eligibility.
General Duties
- Complete associated reporting requirements, as requested or required.
- Assist Executive Director as requested.
- Assist with yearly audit by third party.
- Filling.
- Submit completed Criminal Record Checks, track Criminal Record Check requirements for renewal.
- Complete deposits as required.
- Compile reports based on the need of managers as required.
- Compile HR information, including Licenses and other requirements, and track for required renewals.
- Assist with scheduling as needed.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
Must have proven computer literacy in Windows / MS Office programs: Word / Excel with an ability to handle database programs. Knowledge of ComVida and SeniorCare preferred.
Fluent in English and possess excellent listening skills and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision yet be capable of accepting direction and assistance as required.
Possess a positive, outgoing disposition with an affinity for seniors.
Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement and problem solve.
Possess the ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously with other team members.
**REPORTING RELATIONSHIP**:
Reports to the Executive Director
**Job Type**: Part-time
**Salary**: From $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 15 per week
