Owner Operator Courier

Looking for a driver for rural Cape Breton. The basic route circles the Bras D'or Lake. Starting in Sydney, to North Sydney, Baddeck, Whycocomagh, Port Hawksbury, St Peters, Howie Centre then back to Sydney at the end of the route.

The basic function of this role is:
Delivery and pickup of material to and from customers on a designated route.

The key responsibilities for this position are:
1. Scan and pack up material for delivery
2. Deliver and pickup material to & from customers within times indicated.
3. Scan all barcoded material to customers at customer location and ensure to obtain signature for same.
4. Ensure all pickups are returned to depot at end of day.
5. Prepare and turn in all required paperwork daily.
6. Help with AM Sort (0.5 - 1HR hours).
7. Maintain a high level of customer service in accordance with the standards of ICS Courier

We are looking for individuals who meet the following qualifications:

- Must provide a mini Van or a ¾ ton van for use on route. Insured for courier/delivery use with a minimum $2 million 3rd party liability coverage with certificate holder being named as ICS Courier, along with SEF 44( insured for delivery use).
- WCB Insurance
- Commercial General Liability Insurance($2 million including SEF 96 coverage & showing ICS COURIER as an additional insured on the policy) [Available for purchase through ICS]
- Motor Truck Cargo (Truckmen’s Liability $5,000.) [Available for purchase through ICS]
- Business Registration name and number
- Adherence to all aspects of the broker agreement
- Valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract
- Clear criminal background check.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

Requirements for contract:

- Weekly invoices will be provided to ICS payable within 7 days
- All payments are based on a gross wage with no deductions (exception of union dues where applicable)
- Group benefit package available to purchase
- Any coverage required (vacation, sickness, etc.) are the full responsibility of the contractor. (ICS will not provide coverage for the contracted route.)
- All customers on contracted route are owned by ICS and will be serviced at the times required by ICS not the contractor.

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

- Monday to Friday
