**LOCATION**: de la bakery; 55 Geneva St. St. Catharines, ON

**HOURS**: Part time, 20 - 30 hours/week

**EXPECTED START DATE**: ASAP

**SHIFT TYPES**:Mornings/days; scheduled shift times range between the hours of 5:30am - 5:30pm. Applicants must be available on weekends.

**DESCRIPTION**:
de la terre bakery is located outside of downtown St. Catharines, ON and is seeking a bread mixer and shaper to be part of our production team. The Bread Mixer and Shaper position is a permanent, part
- time position. Applicants must have availability in the mornings, both during the week and on weekends, and must have previous bakery or other industry related experience. Applicants must be comfortable and confident working in a team environment.

**RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**:

- Accurately scaling ingredients and mixing various sourdoughs in accordance with de la terre recipes and procedures
- Folding and shaping various sourdoughs throughout the day, as needed
- Assisting the bread shaping team in dividing and shaping fermented doughs throughout the day, as needed
- Prepping and mixing various sourdough starters and soakers based off of daily production numbers.
- Working both independently and in a team environment throughout the day. Applicants must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and time sensitive environment.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment at all times. Applicants must be knowledgeable in proper food handling, storage, and labeling.

**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Must have experience working in a bakery, restaurant or food service industry; minimum 1year experience.
- Knowledge and experience working with sourdough bread, sourdough starters, preferments, and soakers is an asset.
- Proper food handling experience is required; a Food Handler's Certificate is an asset.
- Experience working with and knowledge of the benefits of naturally fermented products is an asset
- Must have high standards regarding quality and attention to detail.

**Salary**: $16.50-$19.00 per hour
