**ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY**

Canadian Base Operators' Meaford team is growing If you are a committed and collaborative professional looking to contribute to a hard-working, innovative team, this opportunity is for you. The Storesperson position is located in Meaford at the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre and typically reports directly to the Stores Supervisor. The primary duties of a Storesperson are to work in the main warehouse securing and accounting for various items of clothing and equipment; including issuing and exchanging items and completing stock checks and counts.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Receiving as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); ensuring items are adequate
- Pick items to be issued, transmit issues, notifying customers and liaison with Inventory Control
- Review stock inventory and quality
- Issue clean and serviceable stock
- Respond to customer requests
- Assist customer with the loading of bulky stock
- Process receipts, exchanges, returns
- Accept stock returned; confirming serviceability of items or initiating repairs
- Perform other duties as required
- Follows all Health and Safety requirements including wearing all mandatory personal protective equipment and participating the any Health and Safety training that is required

**EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**
- High school Diploma or equivalent

The following certifications/designations are considered an asset:

- Knowledge of DND policies and procedures
- Petroleum Mechanic Helper (PMH) Certification

**WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**

2 or more years' experience in the following would be considered an asset:

- Forklift operation
- Pallet jackets
- Carts
- 3 ton truck
- Zoom boom lift (RTFL)

**SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS**

Proficient knowledge and understanding of:

- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and with mínimal direction
- Must possess serviceable steel toe safety boots that meet standards for workplace safety

*Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance*
