We are a full-service arborist company performing all types of tree work including removals, pruning, cabling/bracing, and planting. We also do a smaller amount of landscape work such as garden bed creation, hardscaping, garden pruning and cleanup.

**The Opportunity**: We are looking for someone eager to use their skills or learn new skills in the tree and landscaping industries. It is a growth opportunity for an interested and motivated person to train to become a climbing arborist.

**Area of responsibility**: The job involves working alongside an arborist for tree removals, tree and shrub pruning, landscape gardening, and yard cleanups.

**Main duties**:

- assist a climbing arborist by running ropes, chipping branches, cleaning up, operating a chainsaw, felling trees, and pruning
- opportunity to develop the skills of a climbing arborist (on the job training provided)
- create garden beds, prune plants and shrubs, plant trees, lay paving stones, garden and yard clean up
- clean up the work site
- clean and maintain equipment

**Job requirements**:

- a hardworking, punctual, and honest team player
- ability and willingness to do manual labour, including heavy lifting
- mechanical aptitude

**Assets**:

- education in arboriculture or horticulture
- chainsaw/power tool experience
- valid class 5 driver’s license
- emergency first aid certification

**Salary**: $18.00-$23.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Kentville, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
