We're on the lookout for an Operational Procurement Category Specialist who thrives in the fast-paced world of manufacturing. If you bring expertise in planning, procurement, MRP, and a solid manufacturing background, we want to hear from you. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring seamless operations by fostering strong supplier relationships, optimizing inventory, and keeping our production lines running smoothly.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Streamlined Procurement: Spearhead the procurement process by efficiently placing purchase orders and leveraging MRP insights to maintain a steady flow of materials.
- Demand Agility: Stay ahead of the curve by monitoring material availability and orchestrating timely adjustments to meet evolving production demands.
- Strategic Forecasting: Utilize your advanced Excel skills to forecast demand accurately, integrating data from Syspro and collaborating with suppliers to synchronize inventory levels.
- Supplier Collaboration: Cultivate robust partnerships with suppliers through proactive communication, utilizing bi-weekly trackers and monthly meetings to align objectives and address challenges head-on.
- Risk Mitigation: Act as the frontline defender against disruptions, assessing the impact of delays, collaborating with planning teams, and exploring alternative sourcing strategies to keep operations running smoothly.
**You have**:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, procurement, and MRP within the manufacturing industry.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain dynamics.
- Proficiency in Excel, with a talent for data analysis and modeling.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Prior exposure to vendor-managed inventory (VMI) programs is a plus.
