**Key Responsibilities**:

- Serve as a PostgreSQL DBRE with specialized expertise in **Aurora PostgreSQL**.
- Oversee **database design**, implementation, and ongoing maintenance in **high-availability environments**.
- Perform **query optimization**, **performance tuning**, and troubleshoot issues to ensure **reliable database performance**.
- Implement and manage **database security practices** and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Utilize monitoring tools such as **CloudWatch** and **Grafana** to observe and improve database health.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide clear communication on database status and performance.
- Develop **SQL** and **scripting** solutions (in **Go**, **Python**) to support automation and operational tasks.

**Required Skills**:

- Proven experience with **PostgreSQL DBRE**, particularly with **Aurora PostgreSQL**.
- Strong knowledge of **PostgreSQL internals**, including **performance tuning** and **query optimization**.
- Expertise in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., **Go**, **Python**).
- Familiarity with database monitoring tools (e.g., **CloudWatch**, **Grafana**).
- Understanding of **database security** and compliance.
- Ability to **troubleshoot and resolve database issues** quickly.
- Bachelor’s degree in **Computer Science**, **Engineering**, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

**Preferred Skills**:

- ** AWS Certified Database - Specialty** or equivalent certification in AWS services and database management.
- Knowledge of **containerization** tools like **Docker** and **Kubernetes**, and their impact on database scalability.
- Strong problem-solving skills in a dynamic, operational environment.

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $43.92/hour - $68.62/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
