Farm Labourer

Looking for seasonal (summer) general farm labourer on dairy farm east of Norwoow

Job Requirements:

- Animal care & husbandry (feeding, cleaning including forking manure, bedding, health and wellness monitoring).
- Must love animals and be comfortable around dogs, cats and cows.
- Ability to lift at least 60 lbs and work in hot outdoor conditions.
- General farm maintenance (cleaning, sterilizing, organizing, grass, gardens, sweeping, shoveling etc.) Picking up
- Experience in carpentry/general construction type work considered to be an asset, but not a requirement.
- Ability to operate tractor/farm machinery considered to be an asset.
- Field work assistance where required.
- Experience with milking machines considered an asset, but not a requirement.
- Willingness and enthusiasm to learn is an asset. Must be detail orientated and a self motivator.
- A non smoker is preferred.
- must have own transportation and a valid Ontario Driver's License is an asset

As this position is funded by a wage subsidy program to provide summer employment and skills development for youth, the participant must be:
a) Between 15-30 years of age.

b) a Canadian citizen, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act [S.C. 2001, c 27] and

c) is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial and federal regulations.

*International students are not eligible for this position. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents.

Job duration: 9 weeks with opportunities to be flexible with the weekly schedule if necessary.
