Bindery Operator

Alberta Printers Inc. is actively seeking an experienced and proficient individual to join our team as a full-time Bindery Operator. If you have a minimum of 3 years of experience working in a commercial print shop, are well-versed in using a programmable Polar cutter machine, and possess exceptional paper cutting skills for both digital and offset press jobs, we want to hear from you.

**Responsibilities**:

- Operate and maintain various bindery equipment, including a programmable Polar cutter machine, to ensure precise and efficient paper cutting.
- Utilize your expertise to accurately cut paper for both digital and offset press jobs, taking into account different paper types and optimizing cutting processes.
- Independently manage and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced production environment to meet project deadlines.
- Collaborate with the production team to maintain workflow consistency and uphold the highest standards of quality.
- Troubleshoot and address minor equipment issues to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted production.
- Assist in additional bindery tasks as required to support overall production goals.

**Requirements**:

- A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a commercial print shop as a bindery operator.
- Proficiency in operating a programmable Polar cutter machine is essential.
- Exceptional paper cutting skills for various print jobs, with a strong understanding of different paper types and optimal cutting techniques.
- Ability to thrive in an independent and fast-paced work environment while maintaining a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Familiarity with bindery equipment beyond paper cutting is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certifications in bindery operations are advantageous.

**Salary**: $21.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
