**SUCCESS PROFILE**
**Position Purpose**
The Gear Fitter/Assembler contributes to the success of GRL’s operations by carrying out mechanical, maintenance and fabricating tasks to facilitate our customers’ operation critical equipment. This is primarily focused on industrial Power Transmission Products. The Gear Fitter/Assembler will complete a variety of tasks that support the company’s ability to meet its sales and service commitments. The position involves shop work, with occasional day travel working effectively with GRL’s service team, customer support, and product specialists across the company. This position will work closely with vendors to obtain service information and subcontractors to supplement work scopes.
**Core Accountabilities**
- Assemble new mechanical drives and power transmission products to distributor standards in order to fulfill customer sales orders.
- Disassemble, inspect, analyze failures and rebuild mechanical drives under direction of the Service Department.
- Assist with mechanical tasks on RCM products under direction of the Service Department.
- Fabrication tasks as required to facilitate above tasks.
- General shop, warehouse and physical plant maintenance and housekeeping tasks to include pick up and delivery of components and supplies.
- Communicates shop statuses regularly to supervisor.
- Maintain shop supplies and consumables at an acceptable level to facilitate timely job completion.
**Location and Travel**
- Based out of the Red Deer, AB office
- Your schedule will be Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.
**Key Relationships and Interactions**
- Reports to the Service Manager
- Key Collaborations: Service Department, Product Specialist, Inside Sales, Alberta Provincial Administrator

**The Person**
- Mechanical aptitude and practical ability. Millwright experience and/or an understanding of power transmission products is an asset.
- A Class 5 Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract.
- Proven ability to keep an organized and tidy workspace.
- Proactive and solution-oriented, working with others to solve technical issues, willing to help out where needed.
- A “can-do” attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability for occasional travel to customer and vendor sites.
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
