This position is camp based, working two weeks on site and one week off shift, with the possibility of night shift rotations.

Travel is covered from your home location to the site.

**How will you contribute to the team?**
- Complete field geological inspections, mapping, logging and documentation for the BC Hydro Site-C Project in Fort ST. John, BC.

**What will you contribute?**
- Holds a recognized degree in Geology, Earth Science, Geological Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering with eligibility as a geoscientist in training (G.I.T.) with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC)
- 0 to 2 years of relevant work experience in some of the following areas:

- Detailed structural geological mapping of above and below ground bedrock surfaces.
- Bedrock foundation preparation/treatment, preferably with experience in dam foundations.
- Identification and mapping of overburden and alluvial deposits.
- Geotechnical logging of overburden and bedrock boreholes, test pits and test trenches.
- Geological and geomorphological interpretation from aerial photograph and field mapping.
- Installation of geotechnical instrumentation including vibrating wire piezometers, inclinometers and extensometers.
- Rock support installation and performance including rock dowels, rock bolds and shotcrete.
- Experience working in hydroelectric/heavy civil construction projects and familiarity with shale bedrock would be an asset.
- Strong written and verbal English communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of Products.
- Ability to prepare technical reports, memos, and presentations.
- Ability to work 10 or more hours a day for 14 consecutive days.
- A valid Class 5 Drivers License in Good Standing is a condition of employment.
- A mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol test is a condition of employment.
