Welland, Canada Vermeers Garden Centre and Flower shop Full time

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide all Vermeer’s customers with exceptional service by hiring, supervising, training and mentoring Cashiers
- Ensure appropriate front-end procedures are applied to maintain transaction accuracy and inventory integrity
- Ensure appropriate coverage for breaks, lunches and maintain department schedules to meet customer needs
- Operate all point-of-sale equipment.
- Ensure proper procedures are followed according to store policy regarding returns and refunds.
- Page over public address system when necessary.
- Be familiar with items in stock, yard inventory, including product use and operation.
- Maintain check-out area and merchandise displays.
- Organize and maintain cash supplies, such as Bags, Wraps, Stationary, etc.
- Assign sales workers to duties

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:

- Friendly and enthusiastic attitude
- Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills to foster strong customer relations
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and demonstrate flexibility by providing other team members support and leading by example
- Detail oriented with strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Accurate with math, currency and related cashier experience an asset
- 1-year supervisory experience in any field, including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
- Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability Monday through Saturday.

**Salary**: $17.00-$19.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- Supervising experience: 1 year (preferred)
- customer service: 2 years (preferred)
