**About the Role**:
As a Die Maintenance, you will be part of the Extrusion Tooling team, supporting the Extrusion line with preventative maintenance; repairing, cleaning and disassembling of dies.

**Your Responsibilities**:

- Perform cleaning and preventative maintenance on extrusion tools as follows:

- Receive tool from Extrusion Department accompanied by a sample part (last off) and a last off tag.
- Disassemble die while hot and remove polymer from flow channels.
- Cool die with air if necessary to make handling easier.
- Inspect die for signs of wear and damage and for any specific problems as noted on last off tag.
- Inform tooling manager of excessive wear or damage while die is disassembled.
- Based on the inspection repair or replace parts as necessary.
- Reassemble die and make final visual check.
- Fill in work completed portion of last off tag.
- Return die to storage location and give red copy of last off tag to tooling supervisor.
- Monitor inventory of spare parts and inform tooling manager of shortages.
- Consistently work to close tolerances.
- Set up and operate a wire EDM machine.
- Verify conformance of extrusion dies or related tooling by checking dimensions, clearances and alignments using micrometer, Vernier and shadowgraph.
- Operate a variety of machine tools such as: drill press, lathe, milling machine, surface grinder, etc.
- Manufacture, fit and assemble spare parts for extrusion dies.
- Perform preventative maintenance and cleanup of all tool room equipment (5S).
- Ensure compliance and enforcement of Customer Specific Requirements, QMS (IATF16949), Health and Safety (ISO 45001), EMS (ISO14001), and security (PIP) requirements.
- Promote and comply with health, safety, and environmental standards, safe operating procedures, good housekeeping practices and the observance of protective equipment requirements at all times.
- Any other reasonable duty required by Management.

**Who we are looking for**:

- Secondary School diploma or equivalent
- Basic mechanical and mathematical aptitude, an asset
- Proficient with hand tools and able to operate tool room equipment
- Ability to lift 50 Ibs to the waist and 30 Ibs overhead
- Ability to work well independently

**Your preferred qualifications**:

- Minimum 1 year extrusion related experience, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment
