**Duties**:
The main task of jurilinguists at CAS is to revise the translation of court decisions. They also occasionally edit or translate court decisions or other texts and answer language-related questions.

CAS is moving forward with the common hybrid work model for the federal public service recently announced by the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat. Our hybrid model consists of an on-site presence of at least 2 days a week, or 40% of the time.

- English to French: three positions
- French to English: creation of a pool (for future consideration)

**Information you must provide**:
Your résumé.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in law or translation.

Degree equivalency

Extensive experience* and recent experience** in legal revision or legal translation from French to English

or

Extensive experience* and recent experience** in legal revision or legal translation from English to French.
- Extensive experience is defined as at least five (5) years of experience, with such activities representing at least 75% of everyday tasks.

**Recent experience is defined as at least five (5) years of experience acquired within the last seven (7) years.

**The following will be applied / assessed at a later date (essential for the job)**:
Bilingual - Imperative (CCB/CCB)

Information on language requirements

Knowledge of legal terminology and of jurilinguistics.

Knowledge of legal and language research tools and techniques.

Knowledge of the French language, for example, its grammar, syntax and style.

Knowledge of the English language, for example, its grammar, syntax and style.

Ability to communicate effectively orally.

Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

Ability to work under pressure while respecting set deadlines and managing priorities.

Experience working in a judicial or quasi-judicial environment.
