Driver Trainer

As part of our growing team, SFX Transport is looking to add another Driver Trainer to our Driver Development team. The Driver Trainer will report to the Driver Development Lead on a daily basis to meet the needs of our development program. This is a daytime, Monday to Friday position, that is hands on with long haul driving trainees. It is based out of our Charlottetown terminal and does not require the individual to drive long haul or be gone overnight.
**Responsibilities**:
Work to develop trainees to ensure that the highest standards for our drivers are met.
Teach pre trip and post trip inspections
Help develop defensive driving practices in trainees
In cab training for driving and operational processes
Other duties as required
**Qualifications**:
Valid Class 1 license.
Experience driving Canada/US long haul
Experience Operating an E-Log with a firm understanding of HOS
Experience using Omni Tracs is an asset
Strong communication skills
Patience to show trainees the proper procedures and correct bad habits if necessary
Ability to handle changing needs based on trainees abilities
