Job Title: Junior Planner

**Job Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Research plans and policies affecting land use, infrastructure, services, transportation, and the environment from a regional perspective
- Support the review of plans, policies, drawings, surveys, and activities to ensure compliance with applicable regional plans and programs
- Data entry and analysis, including spatial data, using software such as Excel, QGIS, and PostgreSQL
- Write briefing notes, discussion papers, and reports
- Mapping, design and graphics support
- Assist with consultation, meetings and workshops with elected officials, government administrations and regional stakeholders
- Prepare and deliver communications materials for government and regional stakeholders

**Qualifications**:

- A Master’s Degree in City Planning or equivalent
- Membership or eligibility for membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP)
- Technical proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and GIS programs
- Knowledge of Acts, policies, regulations with respect to land use planning in Manitoba
- Able to work independently and a willingness to collaborate
- Able to analyze and synthesize information to understand issues, identify constraints, options and opportunities, and support sound decision making
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
