School District 72 is looking for a temporary 1.0 FTE District Educational Technology Coordinator to join our team of professionals, who strive to bring the district's learning beliefs to life. This position will report directly to the Director of Instruction.

School District 72 (Campbell River) is located on the east coast of central Vancouver Island, extending north to Sayward and south to Oyster River. The district also includes the outer islands of Read, Cortes, and Quadra. The district serves over 5,600 students in 18 schools with a diverse range of programs that are progressive and responsive to the educational needs and interests of students.

The district respects and values the relationships with all First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples who reside in these territories. About the Role

Supporting teachers in curriculum, instruction and assessment using a technology lens.

Developing and providing in-service using MyEdBC, including writing report cards and learning updates.

Working with a coordinator team and District Information Technology Department to lead, support, guide, and enhance initiatives to elementary, middle and secondary schools.

Collaborating, leading and supporting District technology initiatives.

Supporting teachers around documentation, digital citizenship, computational thinking, and ADST.

Developing and maintaining a District online resource centre along with the coordinators team for teachers to utilize.

Collaborating with other District Coordinators to ensure an integrated response to the diverse needs of learners and educators in our schools.

Continuing to develop a culture of digital wellness as it relates to pedagogical best practice.

Planning and implementing District based in-service opportunities which may be outside of the normal school day.

Collecting and developing informational and instructional materials for District website, utilizing a coordinated layout and approach for teachers to utilize.

A valid BC Certificate of Qualification through the Ministry of Education.

A passion and relentless pursuit for improving the life chances for all students through strong literacy development and supports.

Extensive successful teaching using technology.

A valid driver's license with access to a vehicle every day.

A deep understanding of current trends in instructional practices including inquiry-based learning, formative assessment, social emotional learning, and universal design for learning.

A deep understanding of how SEL is contextualized by the Core, Curricular, and Content Competencies and is central to British Columbia's K-12 curriculum and assessment system, directly supporting students' growth as educated citizens.
