The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, and the Communications & Technology Services Bureau are seeking a qualified individual to join our Application & Network Integration Unit. In this exciting, rewarding and challenging opportunity, you will Provides secure architecture, design, and operational maintenance services of Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN), Virtual Private Network (VPN), Software-defined Wide Area Network (SDWAN), Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), Cloud Based networking to the Ontario Provincial Police, Municipal Police Services, Ministry and front line operational processes and systems in a 7/24 environment.

**What can I expect to do in this role?**: This role holds a crucial position in ensuring the smooth operation of the OPP wired and wireless network. Reporting directly to the Manager, you will be entrusted with a range of responsibilities involving network installation, configuration, and maintenance. Here's what you can expect to do in this role:
1. Network Infrastructure: You will play a pivotal role in the installation and configuration of network components such as firewalls, routers, switches, wireless controllers, and access points. Leveraging your expertise in Cisco hardware and software, you will ensure the seamless integration and optimal performance of these devices within the network infrastructure.

2. Network Maintenance: You will be actively involved in the ongoing maintenance of the network. This includes tasks like conducting regular software updates, managing patches, monitoring network performance, and proactively optimizing configurations to ensure a secure and efficient network environment.

4. Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: A key aspect of your role will be investigating network issues and identifying the root cause of problems. Utilizing your strong troubleshooting skills, you will analyze network logs, leverage network monitoring tools, and collaborate with team members and external vendors when needed to swiftly resolve complex issues and minimize network downtime.

By undertaking these responsibilities, you will contribute significantly to the reliability, security, and performance of the OPP network infrastructure, playing a vital role in supporting the organization's technology goals and ensuring a positive user experience for all network users.

**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory**:

- Ability to pass an OPP background security investigation. Valid Ontario Driver's Licence.
- Ability to achieve Ministry technical accreditation standards.
- Ability to work on a regularly scheduled on-call basis
