Cambridge, Canada ATS Automation Tooling Systems Full time

The LS Applications team is looking for a creative, self-starting leader to drive the assembly and testing of new rapid prototypes and proof of concept equipment to support the front end of the business. This role provides exposure to new technologies and innovations with customer focused solutions to support sales of automated systems.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Understanding customer’s technical requirements
- Supporting concepts for custom automation solutions
- Under general direction, machine, fit, assemble component parts and precision tooling with quality and timely focus to build rapid prototypes and Proof of principle assemblies.
- Must be creative and able to “Build To Suit”, document POPs and rapid prototypes to support the Apps and Systems teams.
- Requires a practical working knowledge of the operation of all toolroom equipment.
- Must be able to recognize functions and relationships of all details within assemblies.
- Provide project status for team meetings
- Participate in the debug/integration of the rapid prototypes
- Assemble and assist in testing activities
- Provide mechanical support during the duration of debug/integration and testing.
- Be an ambassador for ATS if customers are visiting or if you are visiting a customer site.
- Follow all safety procedures according to the ATS Health and Safety Manual in addition to following any onsite customer health and safety procedures.
- Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
- Maintain a 5S environment in all work areas.

QUALIFICATIONS:
**Education**:

- A Certificate of Qualification as a Machine Tool Builder and Integrator or Tool and Die Maker or equivalent.

**Experience**:

- Completion of a Certificate of Apprenticeship and Certification of Qualification in the above-mentioned trades.
- 3+ years hands on experience in integrating and assembly of custom factory automation.
