**Position Title**:Overhead Door Installer/Service Technician

**Reports to**:Owner/Operator

**Job Summary**:
Residential and Commercial Installer / Service Technician is the primary person responsible for the installation of residential garage doors and garage opener systems, as well as the overall technical maintenance of these systems.

This position is responsible for delivery and installation of residential overhead doors, record keeping, housekeeping at the warehouse, maintaining service vehicles and equipment, product education and training, safety training, component repair, general maintenance, diagnostics, and other duties, as required. This is a safety sensitive position.

**Job Duties**:

- Install overhead doors and door components
- Repair components of overhead doors and openers including replacing springs, cables, track and sections of garage doors
- Install operators and operator components
- Educate customers
- Address fellow employees in a reasonable manner and with respect
- Be a polite, responsible and suitable representative of Queen City Overhead Door.

**Qualifications**:

- Ability to work independently and pay close attention to detail.
- Minimum 2 years' progressive experience in the installation and service of residential overhead doors.
- Ability to obtain and maintain valid safety tickets and essential certifications
- Standard First Aid - three-year expiry (In-Class)
- WHMIS - three-year expiry
- Other certifications as required
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with acceptable driver’s abstract.
- Participate in training on technology and methodology.
- Organized and able to handle multiple tasks.

**Physical Demands and Working Conditions**
- Shop and outside work; in all weather conditions ranging from -30C to +40C between seasons.
- Perform physical demands such as, but not limited to: Reaching above shoulders, climbing ladders, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, working at elevated heights and ability to lift up to 100+ lbs.
- Must be able to use hand tools, power tools and measuring devices.
- Frequent travel (driving).
- Frequently lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, standing with items up to 50 lbs.
- Occasionally lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, standing with items up to 100 lbs.
- Frequent balancing, climbing and walking on uneven ground and terrain.
- Frequent bending and reaching.
- Frequent operation of shop tools including compressors, air tools and power tools.
- Frequent exposure to loud noises.
- Constant communication (spoken, written, reading).
- Overtime as required based on workload.
- Physical exertion (typically involving some combination of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling).
- Operation of equipment with ongoing monitoring of:

- Personal physical state and responses (fatigue, stress); and
- Work site conditions; and adapting with rapid multiple and complex adjustments.
- Will be exposed to construction sites.

**Salary**: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
