Estimator - Local Fencing Company

The Estimator at a local fencing company plays a vital role in assessing project requirements, providing accurate cost estimates, and supporting the sales and project management teams. This position involves visiting project sites, quantifying materials needed and preparing competitive bids for fencing installations.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Review project specifications, blueprints, and site conditions to understand project requirements.

2. Visit project sites to assess the scope of work, take measurements, and identify any challenges or special considerations.

3. Quantify materials required for fencing installations, including fence panels, posts, gates, and hardware.

4. Calculate labor costs based on project complexity, site conditions, and estimated work hours.

5. Research material prices, subcontractor costs, and other project expenses to prepare accurate cost estimates.

6. Consult with suppliers and contractors to obtain pricing for materials and services needed for each project.

7. Prepare detailed and competitive bids for fencing projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company pricing guidelines.

8. Present estimates to clients, explain cost breakdowns, and address any client questions or concerns.

9. Collaborate with sales and project management teams to strategize on pricing, bidding strategies, and project scheduling.

10. Maintain up-to-date records of estimates, bids, and project details for tracking and reporting purposes.

11. Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and construction techniques to optimize estimating processes.

Qualifications:
2. Previous experience in estimating, preferably in the construction or fencing industry.

3. Strong mathematical and analytical skills for accurate cost calculations.

4. Knowledge of fencing materials, installation methods, and industry standards.

5. Excellent communication and presentation skills for interacting with clients, suppliers, and team members.

6. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

7. Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing estimates and bids.

8. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

9. Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the estimating process.

**Salary**: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Experience**:

- estimating: 3 years (preferred)
