_Controller/ Bookkeeper _
West Barr Contracting is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper or Controller.

West-Barr Contracting was founded in 1987 and is a mid-sized business operating in the forestry/construction industry. We operate a log handling facility (log sorting and scaling, data processing of the scale, booming and log storage) and perform site preparation contracts.

Part time position is available, but there is potential to make this a full time role for depending on ideal applicants’ availability.

**Responsibilities**:

- Report directly to principal of organization
- Supervision of some staff and review of work
- Responsible for the full cycle accounting (including preparation of accurate financial statements, bank reconciliations, adjusting entries, intercompany reconciliations, review of A/P and A/R)
- Financial Statement Preparation
- Preparation of monthly reports
- Assisting with budgeting
- Cash flow management
- Acting as key financial resource to management team
- Bookkeeping of all ledgers
- Accounts payable/Accounts receivable (data entry, invoicing, updating budgets, etc.)
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Payroll (including CRA remittances and T4 issuance)
- Preparation of GST, PST returns and may include preparation of corporate T2 return
- Drafting letters and other correspondence
- Filing
- Liaison with external accountant
- Implement costing system
- Follow up with staff delinquent on time sheets
- New hire packages and tax forms
- Communication with staff when necessary to clarify tasks as needed for invoicing

**Requirements**:

- Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 (with regular use in last 12 months)
- 5 + years experience in bookkeeping or newly designated CPA with experience working in a full cycle accounting position
- Proven accounting background
- Versatile in Excel and Word
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self Starter
- Willingness to learn and ability to learn quickly
- Able to work efficiently under pressure
- positive attitude, organized able to multi task and self motivate

- General office duties

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
