Job Summary:
As Head, Payments Risk reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you provide vision and lead the oversight of Central 1’s payments related risks. You create an environment of excellence consistent with Central 1’s culture and risk appetite


What you'll be doing:

- Lead and oversee payments risk management across the organization, including identification, assessment, monitoring, reporting as appropriate to management and Board
- Payments related risk advice and strategy for business and strategic initiatives
- Lead the continued enhancement of relevant risk policies in the context of risk appetite and regulatory requirements
- Proactively work with the Lines of Business to support their payments related growth strategies aligned with C1’s risk appetite
- Oversee the Government Relations portfolio, working with the Lines of Business.
- Model and spread strong risk culture and leadership practices across Central 1.
- Provide vision and payments risk leadership to risk experts and Lines of Business. Provide governance mentoring to leaders in the Risk Group.

What you'll have:

- A university degree in a related field is required, graduate degree is preferred. Relevant risk designations are desirable.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in risk and/or strategy roles
- 10 + years experience in risks related to payments and financial market infrastructures
- Deep understanding of payments and financial risks
- Exceptional verbal and written presentation/communication skills will be required.
- Experience presenting to a broad range of audiences including Board Members and C-Suite.
- Proven thought leader with forward thinking to identify emerging regulatory requirements and industry opportunities.
- Flexibility and creativity in problem solving.
- Strong ability to devise and implement operational frameworks, processes, controls and documentation.
- Experienced leader in managing teams to achieve excellence with a track record of mentoring and growing team members.
- Demonstrated ability of influencing the actions of others within and outside of their areas of responsibility.
- Proven background in effectively managing interpersonal relations across functions and entities in conflicting/competing environments.

**Salary**: $161,000
