**Produce/Packing** **Job Summary**

**Produce/Packing Responsibilities and Duties**
- Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging every guest, directing them to products in the store, maintaining solid product knowledge, provide carry-out service and all other components of customer service.
- Select and package quality product to be attractively and consistently displayed so that we may offer premium choices to the customer.
- Provide proper rotation of products to limit product waste and ensure that freshest product is continually available for purchase.
- Uphold a sufficient amount of packed inventory in proper storage to ensure availability of fresh product to customers.
- Receive, prepare and present customer orders and requests using established procedures to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Operate such tools as pallet jack, compactor, over-wrap device, knives and hand tools.
- Receive and store product deliveries as per policies to safeguard quality and rotation.
- To ensure that customers enjoy a secure and appealing shopping experience, the employee will maintain a safe, clean and orderly appearance of the interior and exterior of the store at all times; tasks will include but are not limited to: collecting shopping carts, sweeping, mopping, cleaning, emptying garbage receptacles and snow/ice removal in the winter.
- Train new produce/packing employees in all manners of the job to maintain consistency in the department.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, as well as other department members, to offer quality customer service.
- Assisting in other duties or departments as assigned.

- Displays a positive attitude and focus on customer satisfaction in this challenging and fast paced environment.
- Team members are flexible, adaptable and neat and tidy; they are able to work quickly and efficiently for extended periods of time, show a proficiency in multi-tasking and demonstrate organizational and prioritization skills.
- Established goals and tasks are completed with any level or absence of supervision; employees will seek support from management when needed but are required to use self-motivation.
- Effective decision making, communication and collaboration skills are utilized.
- Adherence to the policies, procedures and standards relating to customer service, safety and store/department operations are demonstrated consistently.

**Physical Requirements**
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, reaching and climbing throughout a shift. The employee must frequently lift items ranging from 5-50lbs.

**Expected Hours of Work**:
Day, evening, weekend and holiday hours are required.

**Produce/Packing Associate Requirements**:

- A professional appearance.
- Communication proficiency.
- A positive attitude.
- Organizational skills.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Customer service experience an asset but not required.
