Health and Safety Supervisor or Construction Safety

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform on-site safety supervision on a barge in Montreal area for 3 months (travel and living expenses paid).
- Regularly monitor health, safety and environment compliance of workers
- Conduct site specific health, safety and environment orientations for all new site workers and visitors
- Prepare site safety plans, conduct hazard assessments, incident investigations and risk assessments, as required
- Ensure all accidents, incidents and injuries are properly reported to all appropriate parties
- Facilitate and participate in site inspections and implement corrective action as required
- Conduct health, safety and environment meetings
- Maintain and prepare thorough documentation and reports
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in an environmental health and safety role
- Current certificates - could include: Construction Safety Officer or NCSO and OFA 2 or 3
- Good knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations, policies, guidelines and standards
- Proactive in identifying hazards and implementing corrective measures to ensure that health, safety and environment standards are being met on site
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to influence others, in matters of health, safety and environment
- Must have effective verbal and written communicate skills and be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook
- Demonstrated ability to keep detailed and accurate health, safety and environment records
- Can perform physically demanding duties

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

**Salary**: $35.00-$40.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Every Weekend
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

Work Location: One location

Expected start date: 2023-01-16
