Job Description for Nanny and Housekeeper for 9-Year-Old Boy:
Position: Nanny and Housekeeper

**Responsibilities**:
Child Care: Provide attentive and compassionate care for our 9-year-old boy. Engage him in age-appropriate activities, assist with homework, and encourage his physical and intellectual development.

Cooking and Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious and well-balanced meals for the child, considering any dietary restrictions or preferences. Additionally, prepare meals for the family as needed.

Cleaning and Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized home environment. Regularly clean the child's living and play areas, as well as other common areas of the house. Perform general housekeeping tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and laundry.

Grocery Shopping: Purchase groceries and household supplies according to the family's needs and preferences. Ensure that the kitchen is well-stocked with necessary items.

Pet Care: Take care of the family's pets, including feeding, walking, and ensuring their well-being.

Transportation: Safely transport the child to and from school, extracurricular activities, playdates, and other appointments.

Homework Assistance: Provide support and guidance with homework and school-related tasks.

Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with the parents, reporting on the child's progress, activities, and any relevant concerns.

Organizational Skills: Keep track of schedules, appointments, and household inventories to ensure efficient management of daily tasks.

**Requirements**:
Experience: Previous experience as a nanny and housekeeper is preferred. Experience working with children around the age of 9 is a plus.

Cooking Skills: Ability to prepare healthy and appetizing meals for the child and the family.

Housekeeping Skills: Proficiency in maintaining a clean and organized household.

Pet-Friendly: Must have a fondness for animals and be comfortable caring for pets.

Driving: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record may be required for transporting the child.

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is generally required.

Communication: Excellent communication skills are essential for interacting with the child, parents, and other household staff effectively.

Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing schedules and the needs of the family.

- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Dartmouth, NS B2V 2A5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- childcare: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- CPR Certification (preferred)
