Dance Instructor

Are you passionate about dance and love working with children? We're on the lookout for a dynamic and enthusiastic recreational dance instructor to join our team for the 2024/2025 season We are willing to match compensation with skills and experience.

We are located in **Guelph, Ontario **just off of highway 7 on Woodlawn Road.

We are looking for one individual to fill the following schedule on **Saturdays, running September - June.**
- My Grown Up & Me: Creative Movement (18m-3) - 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM (8 week sessions)
- Discover Dance: Ballet & Creative Movement (3-4) - 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM
- Acro Dance Pre-School: Green, Blue & Purple Level (5-6) - 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM
- Discover Dance: Jazz & Tap (5-6) - 10:45 AM to 11:30 AM
- Mini Acro - 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM
- Mini Jazz & Tap - 12:15 PM to 1:30 PM
- Junior Acro - 1:30 PM to 2:15 PM

**Qualifications**:

- Experience working with children in a dance setting
- Acrobatic Arts certification is preferred
- Experience with Discover Dance program is an asset

**Job Duties**:

- **Lead Dance Classes**: Instruct and lead dance classes for children aged 18 months to 6 years in various dance styles including creative movement, ballet, jazz, tap, and acro dance.
- **Lesson Planning**:Develop engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans that align with the curriculum and objectives of each class. Incorporate a variety of dance techniques, exercises, and activities to enhance learning and skill development.
- **Class Management**:Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment by effectively managing class dynamics, behavior, and interactions among students. Encourage active participation, creativity, and teamwork while ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- **Skill Development**:Foster the growth and development of students' dance skills, coordination, rhythm, flexibility, and confidence through progressive instruction, constructive feedback, and encouragement.
- **Choreography**:Develop routines and choreography for the Holiday In-Studio Show and Year-End Recital. Select costumes for Year-End Recital as well.
