Toronto, Canada The Shoebox Project for Shelters Full time

**Summary**

As a Social Media Coordinator with the Shoebox Project for Women, you will work in collaboration with the Fundraising & Communications Coordinator and the Executive Director on the planning, implementation and monitoring of the organization’s **Social Media** strategy, with a goal to increase brand awareness, online engagement, and overall support of our mission. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.

**Eligibility Requirements**:

- Be between the ages of 15 and 30 at the start of employment;
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial legislation and regulations.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Develop, implement and manage our social media strategy across various platforms
- Define the most important social media KPIs
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and communications Coordinator on marketing campaigns and strategies
- Create creative and compelling content for social media (Instagram primarily), using a variety of media (photo, video, graphic)
- Keep abreast of the latest social media best practices and technologies and adapt your work in response

**Qualifications**:

- Experience as a Social Media Coordinator or similar role
- Proven expertise in creating engaging content using Canva and other graphic design tools
- Experience creating and activating successful social media marketing campaigns using still photography & video
- Possesses a strong sense of visual composition and aesthetics
- Willingness to take initiative, think creatively and take risks
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong ability to work collaboratively on projects
- An understanding of basic digital marketing principles and best practices
- Ability to work independently, while meeting deadlines and adhering to schedule
- Excellent knowledge and technical skills of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, and other social media best practices
- Good understanding of social media KPIs
- Knowledge of or interest in issues affecting women impacted by homelessness and the non-profit sector as a whole

**Salary**: $15.50 per hour

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
