Dietary Aide Student

Braemar Retirement Centre (MacGowan Nursing Home) is an accredited 69 bed licensed Long Term Care facility located in Wingham, Ontario. Braemar is a proud RNAO Best Practice Spotlight organization and is working towards becoming a DementiAbility certified home who aims to provide a collaborative, person-centered environment for staff and residents alike.

We are excited to announce we currently have an opening for a professional, enthusiastic, compassionate Dietary Aide Student to join our team. Responsible to the Nutrition Services Manager, the Dietary Aide Student is responsible for assisting with meal preparation, dining room assistance, dishwashing, and cleaning of kitchen. Assists in the kitchen area prior to, during, and after meals are served to residents, as well as assist in maintaining the kitchen work areas, and keeping equipment, utensils and serving areas clean and orderly based on legislative requirements and Braemar organizational policies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve beverages to residents in accordance with their dietary plans of care
Set dining room tables and tray service toward pleasurable dining experience of residents
Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, serveries, dining rooms and foodservice equipment and dish room area
Collaborate as a member of a multidisciplinary team
Adhere to all policies and procedures within the Home
Demonstrate the Mission, Vision, and Values of Dufferin Oaks LTC Home
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Formal:
Enrollment in a secondary education
Must meet the credentials of "student"
Successful completion of Safe Food Handling program

Personal:
Responsible and punctual individual
Must understand principles of good hygiene.
Ability to feel comfortable with elderly individuals.
Good communication skills
