The role of a Parts Counter Person is to provide exceptional customer service and support in the field of truck equipment and accessories. The Parts Counter Person is responsible for coordinating all aspects of truck equipment parts and service activities within Tesco. They play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the truck equipment division by managing parts inventory and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service: Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, actively listening to their concerns, and providing appropriate guidance and solutions.

Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Diagnose truck equipment issues based on customer descriptions. Collaborate with technical personnel to find solutions and ensure timely resolution.

Service Recommendations: Evaluate customer needs and provide accurate and detailed recommendations for repairs, maintenance, and upgrades related to truck equipment and accessories. Offer suitable product options and explain their benefits to customers.

Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of customer interactions, service requests, and work performed. Enter relevant information into computer systems or databases for future reference and follow-up.

Pricing and Quoting: Provide customers with clear and transparent pricing estimates for repairs, parts, and services. Explain cost breakdowns, warranty coverage, and payment options, ensuring customers have a clear understanding of the charges involved.

Customer Follow-Up: Follow up with customers to ensure their satisfaction with the service provided and address any additional concerns or questions. Build strong relationships with customers to foster loyalty and repeat business.

Product Knowledge and Training: Stay updated on the latest truck equipment and accessory trends, technologies, and industry advancements. Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance your knowledge and expertise.

Collaboration: Work closely with technicians, parts personnel, and other team members to streamline operations and provide seamless service to customers. Foster a cooperative and supportive work environment.

Compliance and Safety: Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations to ensure a secure and efficient work environment. Promote a culture of safety and responsible practices among staff and customers.

Parts Identification: Assist customers in identifying the correct parts needed for their snow and ice equipment. Use parts manuals, diagrams, and other resources to accurately identify and locate the required parts.

Parts Ordering and Inventory Management: Process parts orders from customers, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

Technical Assistance: Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment. Offer expert advice on parts compatibility, upgrades, and repairs.

Order Tracking and Follow-Up: Monitor the progress of parts orders. Keep customers informed of the status of their orders and provide regular updates on service appointments or repairs.

Warranty Claims: Assist customers in navigating warranty claims. Liaise with manufacturers or suppliers to facilitate warranty repairs, replacements, or reimbursements.

Incoming Shipments:
Confirm incoming shipments with the shipping team, verifying the accuracy of items received against purchase orders or shipping documents.

Inspect shipments for damages, discrepancies, or quality issues, and report any findings to the appropriate parties.

Unpack and organize incoming items, ensuring they are properly labeled and stored in designated locations.

Update inventory records or systems to reflect received items and maintain accurate stock levels.

Outgoing Shipments:
Aid the shipping team in organizing outgoing shipments, ensuring items are properly packaged, labeled, and documented for shipment.

Determine the most suitable shipping method and carrier based on factors such as delivery requirements, cost, and customer preferences.

Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and any required shipping documentation.

Coordinate with carriers for pickup or delivery arrangements and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery.

Parts Inventory Management:
Monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels of truck equipment parts and accessories.

Receive, inspect, and record incoming parts shipments.

Organize and store parts in a systematic manner to ensure easy accessibility and efficient retrieval.

Conduct regular inventory audits and maintain accurate records of stock levels.

Place orders for parts and supplies as needed, considering lead times and customer requirements.

Collaborate with the procurement team to negotiate favorable pricing and terms with suppliers.
