The Ontario Workers Network (OWN) clinic at LHSC works in collaboration with the WSIB to provide early assessment, treatment and interventional services for injured workers within London and surrounding region at Victoria Hospital. One of the services LHSC’s OWN clinic will begin to offer is that of multi-disciplinary functional and enhanced functional treatment program for injured workers. Worker’s participating in this program receive highly structured treatment sessions including Exercise Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physical therapy to address ongoing physical and psychosocial barriers to recovery.

The successful applicant for this Registered Kinesiologist position will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary treatment team including the Occupational Therapist and Physical Therapists to provide evidence informed and functionally based exercise and treatment interventions, functional testing, functional capacity evaluation, and education focused on timely return to work and maximal functional recovery. Registered Kinesiologists working with the OWN treatment program will have the following key responsibilities:

- Strong evidenced based exercise prescription skills developed through experience and training with enthusiasm for active treatment approaches,
- Ability to complete robust functional abilities testing, functional abilities/capacity evaluation and provide function limitation information to the WSIB, workers and their employers,
- Knowledge and skill with education on topics such as pain, ergonomics, wellness, injury prevention, etc.
- Be able to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team,
- Well established ability to complete comprehensive medical/legal quality reports outlining workers progress for WSIB and worker’s care team providers,

Temporary Full-Time

Rate of Pay: $34.65 per hour - $43.31 per hour

Hours of Work: 37.50 hours

Duration: until September 5 2025

**Qualifications**:
In addition, Registered Kinesiologists working within the OWN program will require the following qualifications:
Qualifications:

- Graduation from an accredited University Program with a Baccalaureate (Honours) Degree in Kinesiology
- Current Registration in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario
- Current membership with the Ontario Kinesiology Association preferred
- Demonstrated recent experience in designing, implementing, monitoring and progressing individualized and group exercise and education programs.
- Recent experience in exercise prescription in individuals post work injury.
- Recent experience in exercise prescription in individuals pre and post musculoskeletal and minor traumatic brain injury surgery.
- Recent experience in functional abilities testing
- Current Certification in Functional Abilities/Capacity Evaluation (EPIC, Metriks, Blankenship, Matheson etc.)
- Strong problem-solving skills and professional judgement in all aspects of practice
- Specialized knowledge in the field of Kinesiology including anatomy, cardiac physiology, exercise physiology, neuroanatomy, strength assessment and exercise prescription. This knowledge is used to interpret vitals and response to exercise,
- Demonstrated knowledge of current WSIB programs and reporting requirements
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and maintaining and charting in an electronic health record
- Recent experience with medical/legal quality report writing.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively link with community resources
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Demonstrated commitment to both clinical and continuing education
- Strongly developed spirit of inquiry and commitment to evidence-informed practice
- Ability to respond positively to change
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s vision, purpose and values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

**Immunization Requirements**:
Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to:

- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis;
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);
- Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health’s current definition of being fully vaccinated
