**SCOPE**
Reporting to the Manager, Access Center for Students with Disabilities (ACSD) the incumbent assists the exams coordinators with exams accommodations for students registered with the Access Center for Students with Disabilities. They act as a resource person for matters related to accommodated exams for students with disabilities, data management, security and procedures. The incumbent supports to resolve concerns associated with accommodated exams. They also support to ensure that each student’s accommodation plan is respected and implemented during the entire examinations process as per the Policy on Accessibility for Students with Disabilities.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Help to identify and resolve student and faculty issues concerning the administration of the examinations, accommodations of extra time, as well as adaptive technology issues associated with/or related to exams.
- Maintain liaison between the ACSD, the University Exams Office, professors and faculty departments regarding Special exams.
- Assess student’s ability to use the assistive technology recommended by the ACSD Advisor during exams. Support the conversion of exams in an appropriate and timely manner, into special format and available to students. Work with IITS to ensure that equipment and software are available and in good working order on both campuses. Troubleshoot assistive technology exam accommodations (Zoom, text to speech, music, etc) and communicate with ACSD advisors as it pertains to student exams.
- For in person exams, assist in the verification of exam packages to be returned to professors upon completion. Support in the organization of exam rooms, and the filing and organization of exams records.
- Follow-up with professors about incomplete exam information. Confirm the academic requirements of any given exam to maintain academic integrity.
- Liaise with CTL and the Exam office on any relevant exams related information as it relates to ACSD.
- Perform other duties in support of the operation of the unit.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Diploma of Collegial Studies (two year pre-university DEC) and 2-4 years of related work experience.
- Good knowledge (Level 4) of spoken and written English in order to communicate effectively with faculty and students; Basic knowledge (Level 3) of basic spoken French.
- Good knowledge (Intermediate level) of Excel; basic knowledge of Access and Word.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deal sensitively with students and faculty.
- Client-focused with a strong desire to resolve delicate situations.
- Good understanding of disability-related issues.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Aptitude to work in a service-oriented environment as both a member of a team and independently.
- Ability to work outside normal operating hours during the final examinations periods.
- Approachability (sensitive and patient with others) and composure (a calming influence in a difficult situation).
- Knowledge of special software such as Kurzweil, Jaws, etc., in order to adapt exams received electronically into adaptive media.
- Demonstrated interest in developing skills in adaptive software.
