Terra Archaeology Limited seeks a full-time Data Analyst/Billing Clerk for its downtown Victoria office in the Accounting Department. Accounting is responsible for maintaining the financial records for Terra Archaeology Limited, as well as for a smaller related corporation and a partially owned partnership. Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

**About the Position**:
Duties associated with this position will adjust to meet evolving demands and directions within the company. Confidentiality, diplomacy, and tact are critical as is the ability to consistently adhere to strict deadlines.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure all receipts are received, verified, and properly accounted for, including billable receipts; research and resolve discrepancies,
- Post credit card expense transactions to financial system,
- Maintain time and billing system database for completeness and accuracy of project data (budgets, rates, phases, status)
- Post billable invoices to time and billing system, such as First Nation and intercompany invoices,
- Track and post accounts receivable data to specialized client billing systems,
- Monitor customer contract balances, as required
- Prepare client invoices in accordance with contractual agreements,
- Prepare detailed activity reports to support client invoicing,
- Assist with business process improvements, and
- Other duties as assigned.

**Skills**:

- Experience with database systems, such as time and billing, project management, database systems (SQL etc) is preferred,
- Understanding of full-cycle accounting,
- Experience with accounting systems; Sage 50 or similar is preferred,
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy,
- Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially Excel, and aptitude for technology
- Ability to organize time to meet strict reporting deadlines,
- Strong communication skills, and
- Ability to perform duties without supervision.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**:completion of a degree or diploma in Business, Accounting, or equivalent such as computer science or information management and relevant work experience (minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience is preferred); and
- **Bondable
