**Responsibilities**:

- Facilitates one-one and group pre-employment and training workshops
- Knowledgeable on Labour Market Information and community resources in Strathroy and Middlesex Country
- Provide support at front reception and Employment Resource Centre greeting incoming clients scheduling appointments, providing resource and referral information
- Support front desk and reception services by creating a welcoming environment for youth
- Work in collaboration with community partners to address the needs of youth that are seeking employment, education and training
- Provide administrative support to employment programming including enter client information into CaMS, updating webtracker with client information
- Conduct follow-up calls with clients to determine if service met their needs
- Utilize successful de-escalation strategies to support youth experiencing trauma, mental health, or behavioral challenges in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Assist and maintain the general cleanliness of the Employment Resource Centre and front reception
- Provide assistance to intake and job development teams

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of or enrollment in post-secondary education at a college or university level in a human relations or social services field or combined equivalent education
- Knowledge of or desire to learn Labour Market Information and services for youth in London and Middlesex County
- Experience or interest in working with at-risk youth and extensive knowledge of local community-based programs
- Experience or interest in running workshops; including implanting all learning styles to meet the needs of youth
- Ability to work days, evenings, weekends as needed
- Current Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- First Aid /CPR certification, Suicide Prevention, Crisis Intervention and Prevention Training (PMAB or CPI) is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 including SharePoint, Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
- Availability to work in person at Next Wave Youth Centre in Strathroy

**Due to the requirements of the Canada Summer Jobs program, applicants must meet ALL criteria**:

- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and,
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

**Rate: $16.00/Hour**
