This role is responsible for providing nutritional meals for all of the children enrolled in the Kids at Blue Childcare. This includes preparing lunches and snacks, washing dishes, ordering food, light cleaning, promoting healthy meal choices and providing support to staff as needed.

**WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?**
- Full Time Hours, Year Round. Monday to Friday, Daytime Shifts
- Hourly Rate of $19.15

**WHAT WILL I BE DOING?**
- Create seasonal menus for child care, meeting all mandatory guidelines
- Submit weekly shopping list to purchasing for food and other program supplies.
- Maintain stock levels and rotate perishables in accordance with Food Safe polices within daycare pantry and refrigerator.
- Daily preparation of lunches and snacks based on Canada Food Guide and weekly menus.
- Ensure that allergy and food sensitivities are considered in all meals and snacks
- Launder childcare supplies as required.
- Maintain a clean kitchen area that meets the Public Health Standards.
- Attend Cook Workshops
- Facilitate nutrition circle with children daily
- Support in the classroom daily and as required.
- Assist with other cleaning when required.

**WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?**
- One year previous cooking experience.
- Basic knowledge of food safe handling and practices.
- Previous experience working with children an asset.
- Must follow menu and nutrition guidelines and requires incumbent to be attentive and ensure accuracy of menu and ingredients. Lack of attention to detail can be potentially fatal for children with food allergies.
- Must ensure daily tasks are competed in a timely manner so children have snack and meals and appropriate scheduled times.
