Macadam Construction is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled **Construction Surveyor **to join our construction team and play a vital role in ensuring accurate measurements and layout for construction projects.

**Responsibilities**:
**Site Surveys and Measurements**:

- Conduct topographic, boundary, and construction surveys to accurately establish reference points, grades, and layout for construction projects.
- Utilize surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS equipment, and levels to collect accurate data.

**Layout and Stakeout**:

- Interpret construction plans and specifications to accurately stake out reference points, lines, and grades on the construction site.
- Verify the alignment and elevation of structures, foundations, utilities, and other project components.

**Data Collection and Analysis**:

- Collect and record survey data, including measurements, angles, distances, and elevations.
- Input survey data into computer software to generate accurate digital maps, plans, and reports.

**Quality Control**:

- Verify the accuracy of completed work by cross-referencing measurements, calculations, and data.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure that construction activities align with surveying benchmarks and specifications.

**Collaboration**:

- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide accurate surveying information for project planning and execution.
- Communicate effectively with construction crews to provide guidance on layout and alignment.

**Problem Solving**:

- Identify and address discrepancies or issues related to survey data, measurements, and site conditions.
- Collaborate with the team to find solutions to challenges that may impact construction progress.

**Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of survey data, calculations, and reports.
- Prepare and present survey reports, maps, and plans for internal and external stakeholders.

**Safety and Compliance**:

- Follow safety protocols and guidelines while conducting surveys in construction environments.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

**Team Supervision**:

- Lead and manage construction crews, providing clear direction and guidance to achieve project objectives.
- Assign tasks, delegate responsibilities, and monitor the performance of crew members.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication.

**Construction Coordination**:

- Coordinate and schedule construction activities to ensure efficient project execution.
- Monitor work progress and ensure tasks are completed on time and in compliance with project specifications.

**Quality Assurance and Safety**:

- Ensure that all construction work adheres to industry standards, codes, and quality requirements.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections.

**Equipment and Material Management**:

- Oversee the use and maintenance of construction equipment, tools, and machinery.
- Coordinate the timely delivery and availability of materials needed for project execution.

**Problem Solving**:

- Identify challenges and obstacles that arise during construction and implement effective solutions.
- Work proactively to prevent and address issues that may impact project progress.

**Communication**:

- Maintain clear communication with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders regarding project status, challenges, and progress.
- Report on work activities, challenges, and accomplishments to superiors.

**Documentation**:

- Keep accurate records of daily construction activities, including work completed, materials used, and labor hours.
- Assist in the preparation of progress reports and project documentation.

**Training and Development**:

- Provide guidance and mentorship to crew members, promoting their professional growth and skill development.
- Facilitate training on new techniques, equipment, and safety practices.

**Client Interaction**:

- Interact with clients and address any concerns related to construction activities.
- Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner during client interactions.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Construction Surveyor, demonstrating expertise in conducting various types of surveys.
- Proficiency in using surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS, and leveling instruments.
- Familiarity with surveying software such as AutoCAD, Trimble, or similar tools.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills for accurate calculations and data interpretation.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in measurements.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders.
