Job Summary:
The Loader Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment including loaders and forklifts to load and unload products such as sand, gravel. topsoil, interlock, pavers, bags of soil, mulch, and other garden center supplies. The Loader Operator must ensure the safe and efficient movement of products from delivery trucks to designated storage areas or directly to customer vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate loaders and forklifts to load and unload products, including sand, gravel. topsoil, interlock, pavers, bags of soil, mulch, and other garden center supplies
- Follow established procedures for handling products, including proper placement and securing of items on pallets or in customer vehicles
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including ensuring that all products are stored in designated locations and that any spills or debris are promptly cleaned up
- Complete daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance issues to management
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe operating practices
- Assist with inventory management by accurately tracking incoming and outgoing products
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, providing product information, and directing customers to desired products
- Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment, preferably in a garden center or similar setting
- Ability to operate loaders and forklifts in a safe and efficient manner, with excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures for handling products
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and ability to lift 50 lbs.

**Salary**: $18.50-$25.50 per hour

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

- Oakville, ON L6J 2X3: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- heavy equipment: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Full G Licence (required)
